North East Centre for Technology Application and Reach, Govt. of India (NECTAR) is an autonomous society, set up under Department of Science & Technology, Government of India with it’s headquarter at Shillong, Meghalaya and office at New Delhi. The Centre looks at harnessing and leveraging niche frontier technologies majorly available with central scientific departments and institutions. NECTAR intends to be the leading Centre to foster, nurture and ensure the delivery, sustenance and use of technology applications for public and social good; and to reach and expand the benefits of technology among people, communities, institutions and governments for equitable and inclusive social and economic development of the North Eastern Region of our country.

The National Institute for Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (ni-msme) (formerly as SIET) was registered at Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh under Public Societies Registration Act I of 1350 Fasli with effective from 1st July 1962. The affairs of the Society are managed, administered, directed and controlled through Governing Council constituted by the Government of India as per Rule 22(a & b) of Rules and Regulations of the Society. The Society, as provided under Rule 3 of Rules and Regulations, was constituted by the Government of India. In 1984, the UNIDO had recognised SIET as an institute of meritorious performance under its Centres of Excellence Scheme subsequently, it was also accorded the national status in the same year and SIET Institute became nisiet. Since then the institute has come a long way, carving a place of distinction for itself in the domain of entrepreneurship promotion, achieving recognition both at the national level and in the international arena. To cope with the pressure of globalisation, the Government of India has enacted the MSMED Bill in the Parliament, which became effective from 2nd October 2006. Accordingly, the Institute, in order to reflect the expanded focus of its objectives with name was rechristened as ni-msme from 11th April 2007 and re-desined its structure and organisation. It is an organisation of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (M/o MSME) (formerly Ministry of SSI & ARI), Government of India.

Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) is an Indian collegiate public university based in Kerala. It was established on Gandhi Jayanti day, 2nd October 1983 in the Kottayam district of Kerala  The Institution offers a large number of programmes at the Undergraduate, Postgraduate, M Phil and Doctoral levels through its 17 University Departments, 1 International and Inter University Centre, 7 Inter University Centres, 10 Inter School Centres, 77 Govt./Aided Affiliated Colleges, 10 Autonomous Colleges (of which 8 are Colleges with a Potential for Excellence), 200 Unaided Affiliated Colleges and 199 Recognized Research Centres. It imparts education in the interdisciplinary as well as conventional disciplines of Science, Social Science and Humanities besides in the professional disciplines like Engineering, Technology, Legal Studies, Pedagogy, Pharmacy and Nursing. There are 52 specialisations for Bachelor of Arts (B.A), 43 for Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), 14 for Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), 8 for Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), 27 for Master of Arts (M.A), 44 for Master of Science (M.Sc), 10 for Master of Commerce (M.Com) and 6 for Master of Technology (M.Tech) programmes.

North East Regional Institute for Science and Technology ( NERIST) is a science and technology oriented higher education Institute in Nirjuli, Itanagar, in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Established in 1984, it is a deemed-to-be-university, autonomous fully funded and controlled by the Ministry of Education, Government of India (formally MHRD). The institute is managed by a Board of Management, comprising representatives of the Ministry of Education, the eight beneficiary states of the North Eastern region, AICTE and educationists. The state governor of Arunachal Pradesh is the de facto head of the highest body, NERIST Society, which consists of education ministers of all North Eastern States. The Board of Management is headed by the Chairman.

FITT is an industrial interface organization, established at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) as a Registered Society on 9th July 1992. The mission of FITT is to be an effective Interface with the Industry to foster, promote and sustain commercialization of science and technology in the Institute for mutual benefits. For over twenty-five years now, FITT has been in a mission mode for effecting the interface between the Institute and the industry and has been devising innovative ways to create partnerships and linkages with business and community to enable knowledge transfer for common good. The team at FITT and academicians from IIT Delhi have been largely responsible for our successful outreach efforts including extensive S&T collaborations.

The role of FITT can be seen in fostering technology development, technical consultancy, collaborative R&D, professional HR development programs, industry-site visits, event participation, corporate membership etc. This is necessitated by the key agenda of the Foundation to showcase and transfer the Institute’s intellectual ware to industry and also inject industrial relevance in teaching and research at IITD. Quite a number of short term and medium term education courses on emerging technologies have been organized and a number of important problem solving innovative and research-oriented consultancy projects have been taken up.

DSIR has recognized FITT as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO). As a SIRO, FITT is eligible for full custom duty exemption for import of capital goods, raw materials and technology know-how that are required for execution of R&D programmes sponsored by the industry

The University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) is the first State Private University on Science & Technology in the entire North East India, sponsored by ERD Foundation, Guwahati.The University has been established under the provisions of the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya Act (No.6 of 2008) enacted by Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya and notified vide Gazette Notification No LL(B)87/2008/21, dated 02.12.2008 of Government of Meghalaya. The University is empowered by the University Grants Commission, to award degrees as specified by the UGC under section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956. USTM has also received necessary approval from AICTE, New Delhi; NCTE, ERC, Bhubaneswar, Pharmacy Council of India to run MBA, B.Ed. & B. Pharm courses respectively.
